Music as an Architectural Leitmotif – A Keyboard of Lights
At the Musikgymnasium Rostock, a lighting concept was created in the foyer that not only accompanies music but makes it visible. The installation creates a striking focal point in the entrance area, establishes a distinctive identity, and gives the space its own “melody.”
At the same time, the solution meets the requirements of a modern school building: the foyer feels welcoming, the staircase gains orientation and depth, and pathways are guided safely and pleasantly. The result is a harmonious combination of design, atmosphere, and practical value — a project that demonstrates how light can translate thematic worlds and shape spaces.
